ABOUT BLISS

At Bliss Yoga & Wellbeing, we make yoga inclusive within our beautiful, light-filled space that is friendly, warm and welcoming to those of all skill levels from novice to enlightened.

 

Our main styles of yoga are Vinyasa, Yin and Slow Flow along with our signature Dawn and Dusk Flows. We also offer meditation and essential oil education, and soon hope to offer Kids and Family yoga, along with regular sound immersions and other workshops.

We respect the tradition of yoga and our teachers use both Sanskrit and English side by side when teaching postures. We educate students on the benefits of the asanas as they practice.

Our classes are friendly and welcoming and are generally open to all experience levels, unless an advanced class is noted on the timetable. We always consider and act upon what is best for each of our students and our teachers communicate openly with students throughout each class.

We share our knowledge and wisdom freely so that our students may deepen their understanding of their yoga practice, themselves and the world around them.

Our Instructors

AGNES GONFAUS

Agnes is a passionate, caring and authentic yoga, meditation and qigong teacher. She will encourage you to explore yourself with curiosity. No matter your body shape, age, gender, flexibility or the length of your legs, Agnes wants you to just feel good in your body and yourself the gift of yoga.

EMILY BIASOTTO

Emily loves the opportunities yoga can create for growth and connection. Having seen a profound shift in her ability to cultivate self-love and compassion since stepping on the mat, Emily is passionate about guiding her students to do the same. Emily’s classes are dynamic and powerful, but also nurturing and light hearted.

BROOKE S. FENNER

Brooke's invitation is for yoga to be an opportunity to tune in and connect with one’s deep self and moment to moment experiences. She encourages students to explore their practice with curiosity and kindness towards their whole selves. Her teaching places emphasis on the breath and alignment to find softness and spaciousness.

JACQUI MULHOLLAND

Jacqui is a qualified meditation and Yin teacher. Her classes aim to provide you with a warm, welcoming, loving space in which you can join with others to explore the stillness and calm within you. To take a moment out of the busyness of life to focus only on you.

JACQUI PHILLIPS

Jacqui is a wellness advocate and long-time lover and user of essential oils. She is passionate about sharing the benefits and uses of these gifts from mother earth including; aiding in reducing toxic load, improving emotional wellbeing, enhancing cooking and generally make everything and everyone smell amazing.

JANA HIGGS

Jana’s teaching incorporates a wide range of practises including asana, vinyasa, pranayama, mantra and the exploration of contemplative and meditative states and deep relaxation. She believes in holding a safe and supported space where one can truly be themselves without fear or self-criticism.

LEONIE LOCKWOOD

Leonie is one of Australia’s first wave of yin yoga teachers. A long time student of Yin Yoga founder Paul Grilley, she returns annually to the USA to refresh her knowledge of Yin yoga, bringing back the latest information to share with her students.

NIGEL TERRACE

After years of chronic back pain, Nigel sought out alternative solutions which lead to an interest in metaphysics, meditation and Yoga philosophy. Since discovering the holistic benefits and healing properties of daily yoga, Nigel ultimately became a yoga teacher where he is able to support others on their own journey of self-discovery.

RHIANNON GLEWIS

In Rhiannon's classes students are offered the opportunity to slowly build strength while honouring the truth of where they find themselves moment to moment. Her motto is 'everything is an invitation, have no expectations' and she is kind and warm, encouraging humour throughout her classes.

SARAH MACHADO

Sarah guides students to practice with safe alignments with a focus on feeling good and building a strong connection to the breath and inner self. She helps students to explore themes they can integrate into their everyday lives. Sarah’s classes integrate elements of mindfulness and are suitable for all levels.

SHANNON ROKIS

SHANNON'S MISSION IS TO HELP HER STUDENTS SETTLE INTO THE STATE OF PEACEFUL QUIETUDE THAT EXISTS BENEATH THE ACTIVITY OF THE MIND, THROUGH SYNCHRONISING BREATH WITH MOVEMENT AND MEDITATION. EXPECT FUN AND DYNAMIC FLOWS IN CLASS WITH A STRONG EMPHASIS ON BREATH AND MINDFULNESS. SHANNON IS A PATIENT AND UNDERSTANDING TEACHER AND LOVES TO TEACH ALL LEVELS OF PRACTITIONERS, FROM BEGINNERS TO ADVANCED.

YOSHIKO YAMADA

FROM A TOOL OF SELF-ENQUIRY TO A MEAN OF EXPRESSION, YOSHI IS FASCINATED WITH THE MEDITATIVE STATE THE BODY MOVEMENT CAN BRING TO THE MIND. AS A DEVOTED YOGA PRACTITIONER AND FACILITATOR, YOSHI PUTS EMPHASIS ON SAFE ALIGNMENT, GRACEFUL SEQUENCES AND MIND-BODY CONNECTION. COMPLETED 200 HOURS YOGA TEACHER TRAINING WITH TARA JUDELLE OF EMBODIED FLOW IN NORTH GOA, INDIA.

    We have developed our signature flows to help provide purpose and intention within your yoga practice. Our Dawn flow is designed to help you greet the day, setting the tone and providing focus. Our Dusk flow takes you from day to night, releasing any frustrations and undone items on your to-do list from clogging your mind so that you can enjoy your evening in a relaxed state.

  • No Bookings Necessary

    We like people to have the freedom to do what they need to in each moment. Modern life is busy, and we believe in flexibility. We have plenty of space in our studio to accommodate students so there is no need to worry that you will miss out on a mat. Schedule yourself into timetabled classes to help keep your practice on track or just pop on by when it feels right, either way, you won’t be penalised for not showing up when life gets in the way.

Our studio is an urban sanctuary, right in the beating-heart of Fairfield. Come and experience our elevated, light-filled space and friendly classes for yourself. Station Street is easily accessible from the surrounding suburbs of Alphington, Northcote, Westgarth, Thornbury, Preston, Heidelberg and Ivanhoe – there’s plenty of street parking to make your visit to Bliss a breeze.
